Body style
Wafer: lightest and cheapest, clamped between flanges. Lug: can close a pipe end. Double-flanged: for large sizes and high-pressure lines.
Seat
EPDM for water and HVAC, NBR for oil, PTFE for chemicals; metal-seated or triple-offset for steam and high temperature.
Disc and body
Ductile iron body with stainless steel disc is the usual water valve; stainless steel for corrosive service.
Operation
Lever up to about 8", gearbox above, or electric/pneumatic actuator on the ISO 5211 top flange.
