Description
Watlow flange immersion heaters consist of WATROD round or FIREBAR flat tubular elements brazed or welded to an ANSI flange, for heating liquids and gases in tanks and pressure vessels where high power is needed. They are available from 150 W to 1 MW (up to 3 MW) at watt densities up to 15.5 W/cm², on flanges from 2 to 48 in, with Alloy 800, stainless steel or steel sheaths for sheath temperatures up to 870 °C.
FIREBAR elements fit more power into a smaller bundle at lower watt density, which suits petroleum liquids. Integral thermowells, thermostats, thermocouples and general-purpose, moisture-, corrosion- or explosion-resistant terminal enclosures (including CSA/ATEX/IECEx certified) are available, as is ASME Section VIII stamping.
