Description
The Bently Nevada RK4 is a rotor kit that closely simulates the behaviour of real rotating machinery for training and research. It can demonstrate single- and multi-plane unbalance, shaft rub, and oil whirl and oil whip instabilities, and is used to teach proximity probe placement, gapping and the reading of probe signals.
A V-frame base gives controlled housing stiffness, and a DC motor drive runs in either direction up to about 10,000 rpm with slow roll and remote speed control. Buffered Proximitor outputs provide 200 mV/mil signals, and the kit runs from 115 or 230 V AC.
