Description
The Rosemount 228 is a toroidal (inductive) conductivity sensor: two coils sealed in PEEK or Tefzel induce and measure a current in the liquid, so there are no metal electrodes to foul or corrode. That makes it the standard choice for dirty, corrosive and highly conductive liquids up to about 2,000,000 µS/cm.
The nominal cell constant is 2.7 /cm. Standard PEEK and Tefzel bodies work up to 120 °C, and a high-temperature PEEK body goes to 200 °C, at up to 295 psig (PEEK). It mounts through a ¾ in MNPT thread or with insertion and valve-retraction adapters, and has an integral RTD and a 20 ft cable as standard.
