Level transmitters and switches in Bangladesh

Principle

Submersible pressure for water tanks, wells and lift stations; ultrasonic or radar (non-contact) for open tanks, chemicals and slurries; float and vibrating switches for high/low alarms.

Range and accuracy

Give the tank height, the liquid and its density; foam, vapour and agitators affect ultrasonic sensors.

Output

4–20 mA, Modbus or relay outputs; a controller can run pumps directly.

Materials and approvals

Choose wetted materials for the liquid and an Ex approval for fuel and solvent tanks.

A submersible pressure transmitter or an ultrasonic sensor mounted on top; both give 4–20 mA for a display or PLC.
