MCB, MCCB, ACB, VCB and RCCB circuit breakers, including the ABB S200 / SU200M ranges, with accessories. Choose a breaker for its datasheet, or ask for a price within 24 hours.

Circuit breakers (MCB, MCCB): buying guide and questions

How to choose a circuit breaker
Rated current
Choose the breaker rating at or below the cable's current-carrying capacity and above the normal load current.
Breaking capacity
Must be at least the prospective short-circuit current at the point of installation: 6 kA or 10 kA for most MCBs in buildings, higher for industrial panels close to the transformer.
Tripping curve
B for resistive loads and long cables, C for general use, D or K for motors and transformers with high inrush, Z for semiconductors.
Poles
1P for single-phase circuits, 2P with neutral, 3P/4P for three-phase.
Standards
IEC 60898-1 for MCBs in buildings, IEC 60947-2 for industrial breakers and MCCBs, UL 489 where North American approval is required.
What is the price of an MCB in Bangladesh?

It depends on the brand, rating, number of poles, curve and breaking capacity. Send the model or the rating, poles, curve and quantity and we quote within 24 hours.

What is the difference between an MCB and an MCCB?

An MCB protects final circuits up to about 63–125 A with a fixed trip setting; an MCCB covers higher currents (to 1600 A), has higher breaking capacity and often adjustable trip settings.

Which MCB curve should I use for a motor?

Use a D or K curve (or a motor-protection circuit breaker) so the starting current does not trip the breaker.

Do you supply genuine ABB breakers?

We source from authorised channels and can provide the manufacturer's documentation. Other brands we list: ABB, Schneider, LS, Hager, Siemens and Energypac.
